What you need to know!
In accordance with BCSA Rule 22:
b) Every volunteer or employee of an affiliated BC Soccer organization, age 19 and over who at any time could be expected in the performance of their duties to:
i) be with any minor aged person must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association
ii) be entrusted with performing financial duties must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
iii) be responsible for book keeping, bank account(s) or any monetary duties must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
c) Every Director of BC Soccer, Senior League, Youth District Association or Youth Club must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
d) The type of Criminal Record Check submitted by volunteers is to be specified by BC Soccer.
You have two options to complete your CRC; at your local police
detachment/community policing office, or online. Instructions for both options are listed below.

STEP 1:
- Before you apply online for your CRC, you will need a CRC Access Code to prove that your application is for a volunteer position. You can obtain the code by entering the last name of the Club President as the password, in First Letter Capitalized format.
- PLEASE DO NOT share or use this code for any other CRC applications other than for use with CVSA--any abuse will result in the loss of privileges to conduct online CRC applications by the Ministry of Justice.

STEP 2:
- Copy the walk-thru guide link and open another window in your browser so you can follow the walk-thru guide for details.
STEP 3:
- Please visit the online Criminal Record Check from the Ministry of Justice at the following link:
- https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/home.html
Once completed, your CRC result will be forwarded directly to the Club Risk Manager.
If for any reasons, you are unable to complete the online application, you will be requested to complete your CRC at your local Police Detachment or Community Policing Office.

Completing the volunteer criminal record check (CRC) at the local RCMP or Community Policing Office
Note: this information changes regularly and may not be accurate. The Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP office has specific days and hours that CRC's can be completed.
- You must bring 2 pieces of government issued ID (one MUST be with a picture ID)
- You must print and bring the CVSA document waving the fees, see below
If you live in Duncan, Chemainus, Crofton or Cowichan Bay: please attend Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP office
If you live in Lake Cowichan, Mesachie Lake or Youbou: please attend the Lake Cowichan RCMP detachment.
If you live in Cobble Hill, Shawnigan Lake, Mill Bay or Malahat: please attend the Shawnigan Lake RCMP detachment.
Please take the CRC Volunteer letter attached to this document with two pieces of GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID to the police department /community policing station in the municipality you reside in. If you do not present this letter, you will be charged a fee.

All coaches and managers are required to take the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders course.
This is an online course paid by the club. It does not have to be done in one sitting. It does need to be completed before the start of the season.

During registration you will need to select Cowichan Valley Soccer Association which resides under BC Soccer, Youth Soccer Districts, Lower Island Soccer.
You can find the Respect in Sport code for Cowichan on the following page. You will be asked for a password, hint Bill Sr.
